It's true that Reynir may have invited Onni out to eat because a) he's a nice, friendly guy and/or b) he's hot for Onni. But there's also the possibility that c) he wants a social buffer when he has to deal with his parents.

Date: 2018-12-08 07:10 am (UTC)But also, I think Reynir mostly wants to get to know Onni as a person (they've been thrown together mostly by necessity and stress) and maybe bridge the gap or clear the air somehow, in his dogged sunshiney way. Some positive, happy, stress-free(ish) interactions might help! Who knows! Reynir knows he's kind of a hapless fool and a regular guy, but Onni doesn't and probably doesn't WANT to know who he really is. So I think Reynir realizes this isn't the time or the place to have a Serious Talk about magic stuff with his parents on the loose—but he is hoping for an opportunity to set that conversation up, and make it clear to Onni that he is pretty normal and not such a stranger or a threat.
